Bhutan spectacular Himalayan landscape is home to some of the highest snow-capped peaks on the planet that rise above deep shadowy gorges and primeval forests. Remote monasteries hang on the sides of cliffs and dot the countryside below as monks chanting can be heard echoing about. Unique architecture, spectacular tsechus (dance festivals) vibrant markets, medieval archery competitions, world class high-altitude trekking, the world’s highest concentration of unclimbed mountains along with stunning flora and fauna. Bhutan is like visiting one big national park instead of a country. Much of the Bhutan is accessible only by foot which makes it one the world’s most remote and unspoiled destinations.
In fact there are so few motorized vehicles in Bhutan the capital city of Thimphu is one of two cities on earth to have no traffic lights. The lack of cars, the nation’s electricity being produced by hydroelectricity, a ban on plastics and the fact that 70 % of the country is covered in forest makes it one of the only nations that is running CO2 deficit. Bhutan is as close to Shangri La as it gets, it’s no wonder that travelers that make the journey spend the rest of their lives reflecting and reminiscing just how amazing Bhutan actually is.

"Having booked with The Escape Artist multiple times (Peru, Costa Rica, Kenya, Galapagos Islands) I knew that I wanted them to work with my girlfriends Mom on a family trip to Greece. John and Katie met us all out to go over the goals of the trip, like always. They built us a package based on our likes and dislikes, and they nailed it! Best part, mid trip wanted to alter our vacation a bit and spend more time in Mykonos. A simple email directly to them and everything was solved! They are fun to work with, but also amazing at what they do! Highly recommend giving them a shot!"
