While The Netherlands is dimunitive is stature (think the size of Maryland) she offers the traveler so much diversity. Some of this is a result of having to construct town/cities that were previously under water and still sit below sea level. It is helpful that the country is essentially pancake flat, as they engineered a system of drainage and canals that allowed The Netherlands to not become the newest Atlantis. So, lets discuss the country. First off, you cant talk about The Netherlands without bringing up Amsterdam. Yes, you need to visit the Red Light District, even if only to say you did. And if you’re a fan of edibles, well, yeah. Enjoy. But the city can offer so much even for those that dont imbibe.
While Amsterdam can itself can be a vacation on its own, to simply dismiss the rest of the country, the coast and forests, the urban provinces outside of the capital, would be extremely foolish. The coastal areas near Friesland and the nearby Friesland Islands are worthy of some sailing and island hoping. National Parks that offer free bike rentals? Um, seriously? The city of Delft, with its attractive medieval buildings, will give you a strong idea of the old Netherlands. The Hague is certainly worthy of your attention as well, it is an extremely laid back portion of the country that is home to some of the most amazing museums you will ever set your eyes upon. Yes, Netherlands is this brilliant, and she is calling your name!

"Having booked with The Escape Artist multiple times (Peru, Costa Rica, Kenya, Galapagos Islands) I knew that I wanted them to work with my girlfriends Mom on a family trip to Greece. John and Katie met us all out to go over the goals of the trip, like always. They built us a package based on our likes and dislikes, and they nailed it! Best part, mid trip wanted to alter our vacation a bit and spend more time in Mykonos. A simple email directly to them and everything was solved! They are fun to work with, but also amazing at what they do! Highly recommend giving them a shot!"
